….AND, the wardrobe & drawers were gone. Pfft.

I only got the keys at 4.30, so the light wasn’t that great. We’ll be moving in slowly – over the next week & a bit, so it might be a bit quieter here for a little while. Or it might not. Knowing me.

  2. Oh, Vic, there is so much potential (do I sound like a real estate agent right now?) OK so I went a bit hazy when I saw the kitchen but renovations can bring amazing things!

  3. Jackie... yes. Just a 'bit'. ;)

Tas - I told you about the kitchen! I DID! I told you all! But one of you sweetpeas sent me some pics that gave me a whole lotta hope, so I'm not that down about it right now. Ask me again after I have to try & cook something in it in it's present state however....

  7. Oh it's cute!!! The kitchen is kinda small (but mine's no bigger!) and the bathroom is, well, it's better than a camp loo. But it'll be so sweet with some TLC. Have fun with it!

Oh I should warn you, old houses are like little old ladies....you think they're sweet and innocent but once you get to know them they'll share some really shocking secrets (not trying to scare you though!)

  9. Oh it's beautiful Vic.
All I can see is potential potential potential... what is it about grass growing through floors down your way?

  10. Look fantastic, I can see so much potential in it, and it is no where near as bad as I thought. Congrats on your new home

  11. LOL I have to laugh at SD's comment about little old ladies.

Uhm, my previous bathroom had a toilet very similar to that one. I so glad to see the back of it. It used to splash the toilet seat when you flushed.

Your kitchen looks a lot like the one I just had demolished...except I had done some work to mine and I had a dishwasher put in.

I can not wait to see how you will transform this place. I know it's going to be the coolest and cutest house around. Please, please make sure you are super careful though when dealing with any flaking paint, ok?

  15. Hmm, ok. Did you dr the pics? Like colouring and stuff? That may have helped! Can't believe you'll be in your new house next weekend, and so will I! The kitchen and bathroom are bloody scary- but surely you've had worse, and remember YOU OWN IT! So many possibilities with a tin of paint. At least Punky won't care!

  17. ohh Vic, there is magnificent potential there lovely.
I hope you won't be sniffing tooo many paints & sanding walls by yourself though.
    all looking very, very familiar..hmmm
we are at fixing stumps & changing rotten weatherboards at the moment.
it is a long process, we have been at it for over 2 yrs.

  18. ..I had to add to Tanya's comment about the carpet.
I was pregnant when we came to inspect our house and there was sooo many bad smells in the house & carpets that I had to keep going out for fresh air!

  26. Vic I am curious, with all these treasures you have picked up at garage sales lately do you have some advice on storage because I am disaster in this area.
It is going to be great to see the transformation.

  27. Oh dear, I am so behind! I need to congratulate you! For all the good news you have shared. Do let the boy lift the heavies wont you.
I also know that with your creativity you will turn the bungalow (with time) into a wonderful and joyous home. It is amazing what can be accomplished and you are just the one to make it happen :)

  28. At least it's 50% habitable! Perhaps you could survive with a camp stove set up in a corner of the loungeroom and set up a paddling pool in the back yard for hose showers...

  34. Hi Vic, I'm an ex-Victorian, and my parents renovated an old house many years ago while we lived there. Now being in Qld, your photo of the fireplace etc. brings back memories. Good luck with it all, and be sure to take plenty of before and after pics! Jenny

  35. Hello =] looks full of potential! My parents have just finished renovating their dream home and I was still in high school for most of it. The bathroom had pink carpet and a family of rats in it when we moved in! But seeing how gratifide they are with their hard work makes the renovation process worth while! Best of luck! B x
