…is back at Kirsty’s – yay!
Now that is where today’s joy comes to an end… I feel like crying right now folks, I do… *deep breath*
So.
I went to the table to take a photo of what I’ve been up to for today.
So.
I cleared away some of the accumulated mess of the last few days; The Boy’s shirt, some oppy treasures, a picture book or seven… I found the book I had been working from. I found my measuring tape, the marker, a ruler, scissors, newspaper scraps…
But.
The A-Line skirt pattern which I spent ages drafting the other day…?
It is gone.
Why is it, that the first time anybody in this house other than me decides to tidy up anything at all, they throw out something I had been labouring over….?!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
For hopefully more cheerful spaces, you know where to go.
ARGGGH! But hang on - REALLY thrown out? As in, thrown into garbage with all manner of vile and disgusting AND the garbage collection truck has been and gone?
ReplyDeleteDamn.
*sniffs sorrowfully*
ReplyDeleteGarbage collection this morning Tania. Of course. And The Boy actually remembered to put the bins out for a change. Of course.
Oh no! Really, in the bin?? Sure you haven't misplaced it??
ReplyDeleteOh No! I'm often misplacing or losing pattern pieces or crafting materials, but they usually turn up....eventually. Fingers crossed that this is the case for you.
ReplyDeleteI had to drag one of my treasures out of the recycle bin the other day so I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteoh that sucks, are you sure you haven't just misplaced it?
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know your blog is really slow in loading?

Oh Vic, you poor thing! I know what that feels like and it's totally infuriating! Hate bin-scrambling and playroom fossicking to find totally mangled item. Find your happy place babe and start a fresh. K
ReplyDeleteOh, no!!! That is truly devastating! If that happened in this house, some fairly serious trauma counselling would be in order. For everyone.
ReplyDeleteI hear you pain, I do. That's nasty... even though the cleaning-up thought was there - dang!!!
ReplyDeleteHey it's been a while since I've visited apart from through the feed reader, and I LOVE the header you have now and your hilarious discription of yourself. Unfaithful crafter. He he.
Oh No! I do hope you find it! If not, look at it as an opportunity for more pattern drafting practice - if someone keeps throwing them out, eventually you'll be able to draft an A-line skirt pattern in 3 minutes flat!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Trust me I feel your pain tho. I live in such a creative constant mess that my work is always being recycled or binned. I hope the next one is speedy to draft and makes you realise how many mistakes there were in the first one.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hope it has just been misplaced and you find it somewhere soon.
ReplyDeleteoh lordy! My husband has done this a few times, he's one of those tidy people...
ReplyDeleteOh No!! I feel your pain, it's just bloody awful
ReplyDeleteI really hope it turns up! On a brighter note, you'll probably become really speedy at drafting the next one...
ReplyDeleteAhhhh!
ReplyDeleteI usually find my lost items a day after re-doing them (they are invariably in one of my file-piles)
I'm keen to know how the skirt goes & where the pattern is from, 2010 is the quest for the perfect fitting A-line skirt for me!
At least the bins were emptied!
Oh no .... time to press the repeat button! Nic xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare sadly in our house since no one else ever cleans up I am usually the culprit of just this kind of mishap which unfortunately happens rather often than not....so I feel your pain its so bloody annoying. My remedy shout rats loudly kick a few things and the pesky thing often comes out of hiding.
ReplyDeleteOh no no no! I reckon I'd scratch that for awhile then and work on something else to sort of "clear the air" ;) Perhaps while you're working on the something else the Mr can be re-drafting your pattern? ;)
ReplyDeleteoh no. Thrown out? Hope you find it adn it's recueable...
ReplyDeleteOh! I feel your pain! And when time is so precious it's an extra bugger. Maybe the universe is telling you to do it WITHOUT a pattern... saw this great blog the other day - sooz at http://soozs.blogspot.com/2009/10/sewing-without-patterns.html .
ReplyDeleteYou probably know about her, but the whole 'no pattern' idea really appeals...
Otherwise, I hope you find it. I'd be checking the freezer, the dryer, the car - that's how bizarre my lack of organisation can be these days...
That is terrible!
ReplyDeleteKnow your loss. My son is going through a scissor stage and I left some drafting out on the dining room table thinking I'd quickly finish it the next morning... boom boom... disaster - he was awake at the crack of dawn hacking it into a zillion pieces. Awful!
owww love that rabbit skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hopefully it just grew legs and scurried off to some secret hiding place, where you'll discover it while digging around for something else.... So sad.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that is tragic news of the worst sort. It has happened to me and it feels just awful. From the comments it looks as though you are in good company at least. Deep breaths and a glass of wine, that's my suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to ask the motherly question, "where was it when you last used it", but that would be annoying and stupid. So I'll just say "soory, i feel your pain"
