My Creative Space....

...is pretty late today, I may or may not have been stitching finishing touches on this blasted WIP that is a WIP no longer!! Hurrah! I really have 'My Creative Space' to thank for the extra motivation... I just couldn't face another "...well, I'm almost finished..." post, and if I didn't get it done I don't have a whole lot else going on in my space this week - it's hard to get to through piles of blankets, pillows & overnight bags.

So, without further ado;
A Corduroy Patched old style rocker.

I roped my poor little sister into helping with the last few squares too, even though she's not sewn anything before, and she did a great job! (Spanks Sis!)

What inspired (possesed) me to patch an entire freaking chair?! Well, necessity, actually. The side of the damn thing had exploded;
In Handmade Home, Amanda has almost a side note on embellishing worn spots on old furniture with doilies & patches & what not & I thought (stupidly) "Why not do the whole chair?!". The answer to that is "Because it will take FOREVER!" but what is done is done... and it looks pretty nifty if I do say so myself.
This is going to reside there in front of my crafty cabinet, and will hence forth be known as "The crafting throne".

  14. Oh Vic, you are so inspiring! (and also just a tiny bit insane I think!). You have well and truly earned the right to sit on that Crafting Throne and bask in your Royal-ness. And also, while you're sitting there, ponder the question: "what the hell was I thinking?"
    Great job girl.

  20. Your chair is beautiful! My mom has a loveseat that I would love to do this way. If only she liked the patchwork look. sigh. You've inspired me to look for something else to try. :-)
