This Week…

…has not gotten off to a good start. Suspence had a craptacular night last night; didn’t want to sleep by himself or with me, so as a result I am propping my eyes open with toothpicks & contemplating a caffeine IV.

“This Week” has been working for me as a post. I have done what I have thought & wrote about both times I have thought & wrote about what it was I wanted to do, so I’m going to keep doing it. If it’s been working for you too, then please, keep it up; leave me a link in the comments & I will swing by with some enthusiastic encouragement, but I’m nixing the linky part, the actual meme part, because I’m not “feeling” it. Thank you very much to those lovely peeps who played along though, I’m glad some if not most of you got things done!

This week I AM going to decide whether I want to take back My Place & Yours. After whinging & whining about giving it away, I have the chance to take it back & now I’m not so sure.

This week I am going to dress as though I am going out every single day, hopefully within an hour of getting out of bed. Too often lately I have found myself in yoga pants & a hoodie, not fit to be seen on the veranda let alone anywhere else. I’m hoping that making an effort in that area will spill over into some other areas that I tend to let slide. Maybe if I look more capable I will feel more capable too.

This week (hopefully today) I am going to post the birthday present I made for my Mum yesterday after trying & failing to find something I wanted to get her online. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! Your present is (almost) in the mail.

Also this week I am going to find a good book & read it. I have been very lax in reading; our library has moved & I don’t like it’s new vibe at all. It has gone from being dark & cosy to large & dull, I find it a chore to go there & pick up books. If I can’t bring myself to go back there I should at least re-read some Brautigan; that always makes me happy.

So those are my plans for this week! I was thinking about being a bit more ambitious, but after last night I can barely think straight let alone aim high, so I might just leave the grand plans for another week.

What are you up to this week?

  1. I'm loving the "this week" posts, it's a great way to start the week. Lou Lou used to do "at my house" which was similar. I do love to start the week with a spot of reflection!! Please take back My place and Yours, it fits so nicely with your vibe!

  2. Yes, please do take back My place or yours - I always enjoyed reading where you were off too (and secretly always wanted you to come and visit me, and please hurry up - I am only here till the end of the year and then I will be moving closer to you)

I am going to join in - but not till tomorrow - still have one more SIT post to do. Good luck with the coffee and the toothpicks - hope your day improves and a big Happy Birthday to you Mum.

  3. Ooh, try "Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict" by Laurie Viera Rigler. I'm listening to the audiobook while I drive, and I can barely stand to get out of the car when I get home. Really good stuff...

  4. I love reading your "This Week" and I love doing my own "This Week". I dont care about the linky thing - it was a great idea and I am running with it, because I seriously seem to be getting things done. High Five

  5. Oh, I hope Spence gets his act together. You remind me of one of the reasons I should enjoy my children getting older. They (generally) sleep better! Good plans for the week there. Hope that your mum adores your pressie :)

  6. My half-hearted goal for the week is to be more positive about being at home with my whingy/teething/snotty/sleepless kids. If I'm being more positive I guess I should call them vocal/growing/blessed with noses/eager to spend lots of time with me kids.

  8. Brautigan is a fine thing.

This week I am trying to keep my head above water with my brand-new baby, who is not yet a week old. I should aspire to let go of all aspirations for this most unpredictable of weeks, but even that feels like too much of a commitment right now!

  10. Oh how I wish that was my wardrobe! Not that I'd probably wear anything in it but I'd just sit in front of it all and stare at it.

Let's have a chat. And a biscuit. And some tea. And another biscuit.
