…WIP shame.
With unpacking & re-organising has come the discovery of some Works In Progress I had totally forgotten about… so my space this week is going to document them so that perhaps I will feel some sort of obligation to get rid of them.
First things first however – I have to admit that there are only three WIPs to follow – but there most assuredly should be more. You see, I give up easily. If something is going completely & utterly wrong, or not turning out as I want it to… well… it’s GONE. And I feel no remorse. Ever. Which means, these three things hanging around require completion, of some sort, at some point.
I have allocated my wee little Sunjoy case (anybody with any clue as to what Sunjoy is/was yet?!) to be my WIP case of shame – it’s big enough to fit my current WIPs in, and maybe a couple more, but if it gets full – THAT’S IT. I’ll be putting my foot down… erm… with myself… and demanding action.
Right’o, enough waffle: What’s in the case:
- One vintage circular table cloth, with hole cut in the middle. Was thinking of making something a step up from this.
- One Ruby doll in pieces, was excited from this, but then became…. less so.
- One headless, armless, naked & faceless dolly – sister to my Softie for Mirabel, originally intended for Punky for Christmas. *coughs*
Another WIP is my actual crafty/creative space, the loft. It is coming along, but it’s not quite right yet. I do wish I had unlimited funds & easy IKEA access, but alas, I am having to make do with what I’ve got… just trying to tie it all together somehow…
For more creative spaces, hosted by the creative genius herself, head on over to Kirsty’s.
I have so many WIPs hiding around my place it's crazy! Love your loft, it's coming along beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLots of WIPing going on at your place! (sorry)
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and your works in progress!
Your pictures are beautiful, so warm and inviting. I especially love the one of the stacked suitcases. You've got a wonderful talent there.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get all my WIPs done before moving onto the next project. It's so hard sometimes as I get so excited about something new and push the poor WIP to the side!
ReplyDeleteHope you get to finish your WIPs
Oh lordy, I got more WIPs than you can shake a stick at. From the photos it's looking like the loft is coming along nicely, I of course love the pile-o-suitcases and that wooden slotty thinger (paper/school work holder?), it is tres awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt takes me ages to set up a space. I move things then stare at them for a long time, then move them again and repeat. I find it's all a "work in progress" all the time...just like me:)
Just three, eh? Nothing shameful about that at all. Now if you were to come over to my place ....
ReplyDelete3 isn't that bad.
ReplyDeleteHey the loft is looking great!x
your space is coming together really well ... i love the wooden paper stored on its side.
ReplyDeleteMy Creative Space
I can completely relate to the WIP finds - only last night I pulled out two Lincraft bags - one with a half made dress, the other with a jacket cut out..oh dear - I'd forgotten they even existed!
ReplyDeleteLove the stacked suitcases - what great colours!
looking amazing! woo!
ReplyDeleteNothing shameful about have 3 WIP's, I create this many at least a week hehe
ReplyDeleteGirl, your WIP pile is laughably small. Your stack of suitcases, however, is superbly tall. IKEA is bland-tastic, so enjoy using what you've got and making an awesome space for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of WIP's - I was thinking of doing a series of posts on each WIP with the hope it makes me finish them.
ReplyDeleteLove the suitcases. :D
The great thing about The Toy Society is that there is no time limit!
ReplyDeleteAhh yes, those pesky wittle wips can get a tad out of hand, can't they?!
ReplyDelete...and a woman after my own heart with those lovely, lovely suitcases!! Now aren't they handy little devices sometimes? lol.
that last photo is lovely Vic. You know who to call if you ever don't want that splendid red case :P, its to die for!
ReplyDeleteI have a few WIPS in my closet too. You must get to that doll eventually because it looks like it's going to be very cute. xo m.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW your photo's are so very beautiful, straight out of a magazine and your suitcases are gorgeous. Love your blog. Yep I've got a WIPs overload here too. Hope you have a Happy Easter :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the WIPs! Love the last photo of the suitcases! Nicaubribbi
ReplyDeleteMate, you put me to SHAME. Shame, I say! Thousands of the WIP blighters if I cared to look - which I don't because I'm doing bigtime self-preservation denial.
ReplyDeleteFrequently, I don't even get to the WIP stage - I'm guilt laden over the bucketloads of stash I have which have been purchased for particular projects, but which never quite got off the ground! Le sigh! Love your stack of cases :)
ReplyDeleteI can never move house because I would be terrified at the amount of wip's I might uncover. Three is doable for sure. your space is looking lovely! I hope you get lots of chocky and have a great weekend. X
ReplyDeleteOoohhh if the outing and shaming of your WIP’s works for you I may just have to give that tactic a go! Love the stack of cases – sure they are not hiding even more unfinished projects??????
