(From) Where I Sleep.

My Bed is just a bed. The Ikea frame was bought on ebay for $40 when our old bed kicked the bucket about four years ago. It’s never made & not at all interesting; you don’t want to see that. Like a lot of you it seems, my bedroom is often always a mess; it’s where all the clean clothes go to get folded… they get turfed unceremoniously from the laundry basket to the bed & then they get pushed to the floor when Mr goes to bed. I don’t know if he’s ever put a piece of clothing away in his life.

Our house is teeny weeny. Calling it teeny weeny might actually be a generous term… but even worse is that it’s teeny weeny with absolutely zero storage & our room is the smallest bedroom, cut in half vertically by the loft so there is no soaring ceiling like the ones in the rest of the house which at least give the illusion of space… that makes for a cluttered, dark look no matter what you’ve got in there.

Who needs curtains when you can hang your dresses by the window…? (And some of you were too embarrassed to post your pictures…!)

More My Place & Yours players here. Thank you to the lovely participants; I promise I will wait until at least Thursday next time before pouting in the corner…!

(…& with this post my friends, Blogtoberfest is OVER!)

  2. You've got such cool stuff, it doesn't matter that you don't have much storage!!

  3. Very funny! My bed use to always be covered in folded clothes. I got so sick of it ,because of course they would still be there come sleep time. So now the dining table is always half covered in folded clothes. The other half is covered in my craft stuff. We never eat there!

  5. your clutter sounds very chic, mine on the other hand is appalling. i have 3 laundry basket waiting to get folded in our bedroom and the kids just wear the clothes that have been washed so their clothing repertoire sometimes is recycled over weeks..hehe.
    love all those flower brooches ♥

  8. This was a fun post and theme Vic... I love the look of your "stuff" and it sounds like your bedroom and house is just like mine..mine is very teeny tiny too. Now I had to dust my shelves for the first week, and I've made my bed and cleaned my bedroom for this week... what's next????? At this rate my house is going to be spotless some time this year!!!! woo hoo :)

  10. Clutter chic is good when you have such lovely colours. Isn't it good to know that we are not the only ones to never make our beds? At the moment I am happy to say that all the folding awaits me in the laundry and not on the dining table and/orlounge chairs. Unfortunately, due to certain non-folding habits of mine, I have had to move the ironing board out of the laundry so I can see the top of it whenever anyone asks for something to be ironed. Cherrie

  11. You seem to be able to pull off clutter with style so I don't think you have a thing to worry about.

  12. I think it's the same the world ~ just different places to put the clean-waiting-to-be-sorted laundry. {for us it's the pool table, the dog and Hubby's football gear takes up the extra room in the bedroom!}

  13. I know exactly how you feel about the clothes. I put clean clothes on the bed and Master either a) chucks them on the floor, b) crumples them all up in one corner of the bed or c) sleeps on top of them.
    BTW, Master is not a cat but my husband....

  14. My husband never puts anything away either. I'm not sure whether he thinks the space between the bed and the wall is the wardrobe or the laundry basket!
    Glad I found your blog via Blogtoberfest and can't believe there is only one more post to go. It's 8am here, so I don't what it will be yet.
