My Creative Space

Goddamn I suck at knitting.

Yet still I persist.

Every couple of years.

At trying to make…. “something”.

I thought this would be a portable, relaxing endeavour while we move.

I was wrong.

NOTting

Kudos to Kirsty for her magnificent Creative Space hosting skills, head on over!

  1. Keep, calm and carry on ... or so they say. I'm with you on knitting - portable, yes, relaxing, no! Good luck with the house! Nic

  2. that's so me and knitting too. it looks easy and then the pattern's written in double dutch and i get weak at the knees ... you get the picture. i'm trying like crazy to make something for my mother and the moment and I had to put it down on the train this morning because it freaked me ... perhaps we need an anti knitting stress mantra? any ideas?

  4. My vote's for embroidery, iron on or draw on a pattern and Bob's your uncle!

(ditto to Jess's offer if you want an embroidery lesson or two.)

As an aside, I have about 17 uncles, and none of them are called Bob.

  9. I love the colour you're using there. So far I've knitted nothing but a few scarves & some squares to make a blanket, keeping it simple, but it is nice to go back to every now & then.

  11. I can't knit to save my life, just never made sense to me, but I can crochet with my eyes closed. Perhaps crochet might be the way to go? By the way your knitting looks lovely!

  14. Knitting is one of the things I will happily say I suck at. I've tried several times but I just can not do it. Would love to but I can't. sometimes its best to leave it to those who know how.

  16. *ahem*

I suck even worse at crochet - although I desperatly want to... not suck.

Jess - you'll regret the offer but I'm taking you up on it. ;)

Tas - I have one, but I'm sick of the only two games I like... and new ones are EXPENSIVE!

Kate - Are you the only one that noticed I was pulling it out...?! AND why?! Bravo!

  17. I hear you with the knitting! I have recently discovered all my past attempts....a little pile of small squares...! Think I might put them altogether and make a patchwork blanket...I will not be defeated!!!!

  18. I have heard crocheting is a bit easier but I do love some knitted accessories. I applaud you, I still have not learned either.

  19. I'm with Tas too.
But you suck about 20+ rows less than me at it (you can't even do a couple of stitches - is that what they are called ..)
