Loft Schmoft.

*sigh*

I thought the loft, my lovely, pretty, sun drenched loft, would come together sooooooo easily. I thought it would be my retreat from the rest of house as it languished in cardboard boxes & mocked me with it’s desperate need for “things to be done”, but… oh how I was wrong!

I need to paint! I need more storage! I can’t believe I am even thinking this, let alone saying it… but… I have too much junk! Everything up here is somehow craft related though – wool I’ll never use, fabric that I can’t even see, BUTTONS, craft books, glue, paint… enough to keep a dedicated crafter busy for a year or more without bringing in any new supplies… if only I were a dedicated crafter!

I need to cull but I know I won’t, so the next best thing is going to have to be organisation… wish me luck!

  1. Sounds like a visit to Ikea for some uber good storage solutions in in your future! Let me know, and we can have coffee! Nic

  4. the surest way to become a crafter is to get rid of all your crafting items. I've done it before. BUT You did say my favourite word. Organize... ahhhhh, like sweet music.

  5. I discovered a dedicated crafter is also dedicated collector - IKEA is a perfect solution - please don't cull just yet ;)

  6. All true crafters have a load of supplies, it's what we do. After all we need all this stuff for those moments when we feel inspired to make something, you know those times at 10pm when we should be going to bed but the desire to create is too strong.

A trip to Ikea sounds perfect to me, cause I'm super super jealous, we don't have Ikea here and it just wrong.

  8. It's a mood thing with me, the organising frame of mind you need to get into. Then you can do ANYTHING! Or the other way that can work is to do one section at a time. I think an Ikea trip is a fab idea. Can I come too? xo

  9. What a great space. I can see why you have such plans for it. I bet you'll have that place sorted in no time & then you'll be able to use it as your little crafty retreat! Good luck...

  13. Vic, I don't like throwing out craft supplies either...you find you need it a week later! Why not sort out into Use this month, New projects to try, and Maybe ? This way you can sort through the Maybe, and THEN pass on to someone else what you still don't want. Good luck with it all, Jenny

  14. Off you go to the garage sales to look for some fab storage furniture...if only you could do that without buying all those extra little bargains that fall into your lap lol! You may well by worse off.

  15. Oh how I want a loft! I have too much stuff too and if our planned move comes off I will have to have a garage sale which will help us down size and raise funds... It is just so sad to think of having to do it :(
