Amazeballs.

If I were the type to use a “word” like ‘Amazeballs’, I would be inclined to use it about work like this.

amywildhorse

I found Kira Shaimanova the day after Amy Winehouse died when Regretsy linked to the distasteful profiteering on Etsy by way of an Amy Winehouse treasury. By the time I made it over the front page was Amy-free so I did a search to see what sort of horrors were on offer, which is when I found the amazing work “Amy Wildhorse” (created long before Amy’s unfortunate death) & had to see what else this artist had to offer.

This stuff puts me in mind of the old animated films that used to be on sometimes in school holidays, like Willy McBean & his Magic Machine, executed with an artist’s flair & meticulous attention to detail, I love it all.

(Definition of “Amazeballs” from the Urban Dictionary

Some annoying term Perez Hilton keeps trying to make happen, by saying it repeatedly, even though it makes no sense, and getting twitter followers to try and make it a trending topic, to make himself more famous for no reason.

Eg: The fact that someone like Perez Hilton can make six figures by being an annoying douchebag is amazeballs.)

Pulp Fiction.

If I could only watch one movie ever again, over & over, for the rest of my life, it would, I think, be Pulp Fiction. Apart from John Travolta looking scrummy as Vince, Samuel L Jackson exuding badass cool and the soundtrack being AMAZING, any movie that can spark such awesome as I’ve found here (click pics for links) is quite obviously a masterpiece….

What would you choose as your one & only, if you had to, like, if Samuel L was sipping your soda & pointing a gun at your head?

On your bike.

So, being a public holiday, I will not have any more news today about the house, or “The Cottage” as I have come to think of her, but that shall not stop me from worrying, hoping & planning the entire interior decor.

One thing I would really like to have in my little home, when we can finally “bang a nail in” wherever & whenever we like, is an abundance of beautiful art. I am drawn to illustrations & drawings mostly, maybe because that is what I do…? I don’t know, but I feel a deeper, quicker connection to drawings that I like than I do with paintings that I like, or even photographs, so I’ve been looking for lovely drawings lately that I can frame & admire.

I already have one lovely print ready to go – I am yet to find the right frame, but how I love this picture! I was lucky enough to win it, but I’ve only gone & forgotten where… it’s from here.

Isn’t he great? “Murray the Moose”. Brilliant.

I was thinking maybe some more bicycle themed art to go with him….? What do you think of this lot….?

“The Trick Rider” – not a drawing obviously, but pretty damn cool me thinks!

“Life is like riding a bicycle”

I actually have the remains of a bike veeeeeeeeery similar to that last one in the back yard at the moment – I fell in love when I saw it – shiny red with cool handles & white wall tires… too bad it was incredibly impractical to ride (make that ‘impossible’). I stole the seat for my current ride & plan on making one of the tires into a massive clock…
