…aka “Crafting for Heavily Preggers Peeps”…
…aka “Don’t try this at home”…
…aka “Craft FAIL”.
So. I “covered” a manky old footstool with some of the left over robot quilt fabric. But…. I didn’t want to sew anything.
So… I glued it on.
Yup.
GLUE. White craft glue, to be precise. Shoulda/woulda/coulda used ModPodge maybe…?
Oh well.
Apart from the air bubbles it looks okay… good enough to stick my sausage feet on anyway!
More (perhaps less half-assed) creative spaces over here.
Love it, Vic! Glue is genius! Excellent colour combos and perfect for sausage feet! Nic x
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Vic!
ReplyDeleteI use glue for fabric sometimes too - its V handy! It would make this more durable surely??x
Hey! I want one of your fails. your fail is awesome. Mine sucks ass and has ZERO functionality.
ReplyDeleteYour fail is a FAIL. ;)
xB
It looks fantastic!
ReplyDelete... I mean your fail is a fail in that it is awesome....
ReplyDeleteyeah, need more coffee.
xB
It still looks great in soft focus like that :)
ReplyDeleteI love the no sew, glue idea. And the bright and funky fabrics looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool.
ReplyDeleteI love that you glued it.
you are fabulous. xx
From someone who used to staple loose hems up I think gluing is a totally acceptable form of craftiness!
ReplyDeleteGo put your feet up on the scratchy goodness!
Crafting after your due date is a mighty big pass! I think it looks great :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I would take the easy way out too, but this most definitely isn't a fail. I love it
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty good to me - I hadn't noticed the air bubbles till you mentioned them and then I had to go back and look. The colours are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHey, if it works - do it! And if it needs fixing later on, easy peasy! It looks great btw!
ReplyDeleteFail schmail, all those eye-popping bright colours look fab and I bet your tootsies aren't complaining about any air bubbles:)
ReplyDeleteI does look nice, though, doesn't it? I always pull of some kind of half-assed craft fail just before I'm due to pop...maybe it's a sign?
ReplyDeleteGlue or no glue ( and what's wrong with a bit of glue) it looks fabulous Vic! xp
ReplyDeleteSewing I can't do... glue I can. Why didn't I ever think of this before. I'm hot-gluing my ottomans this weekend for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your sausages are alright. When I was preggers, my husband called me Frodo. I really did have hobbit feet... x
Looks great, well done, I am off to source a foot stool to cover now!! x
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Vic, and I didn't even notice the bubbles until you pointed them out. Plus once the kid(s) sit on it a couple of times you won't notice anymore (you will be more worried about the dirt marks on it then!). I keep checking in to see if you still here everyday!
ReplyDeleteIf it looks good, it is good!! Great collection of prints, love Posie
ReplyDeleteStill looks ok and hey its functional.
ReplyDeleteDude glue is the way to go you know!!
ReplyDeletexo Steph
You know you're past your due date when gluing fabric to furniture seems like a good idea! :-D
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to do a blog post about my postnatal crafting recommendation - doing your pelvic floor exercises while fusing interfacing or heat setting screenprints.
My verification word is 'whalo'. Descreibes how you're feeling this week, I'm sure...
i am so about the half-do it properlyness...
ReplyDeleteI am impressed you are getting low enough to glue. My floors seem to have a meal for tonight on them! And forget about picking up lego...
can we have a shot of your ankles please?
(my feet are currently resting on an inflatable spider, as I have neither the inclination or the glue to make a footstool !)
Gotta love the white glue!
ReplyDeleteI know I do.
I think preggers sausage feet are the funniest and most disgusting things ever. Mine balloon up straight after I've had the bub ans stay like that for a coupla days.
Enjoy. X
It's cute, it's done and it's bound to make you smile whenever you use it! Faced with having to stitch all those sweet little pieces together and then upholstering it onto the footstool, I think I'd be glueing as well : ) (and I'm not even pregnant!)
ReplyDeleteOh my! I've been there with a glue "perhaps I shouldn't have" moment myself! Yours doesn't come close to my disaster... in fact your foot stool look very decent!
ReplyDeletePretty brilliant effort. My brain was mush when I was pregnant - yours is filled with beautiful creativity!
ReplyDeletelove your work. huge fan of glue
ReplyDeleteawesome! I love it.
ReplyDeleteIs it for the babies room?
It's perfect Vic. I love all your robot fabrics and glue is great for all sorts here in our house too;)xo
