My finds for this week:
I stopped in at the oppy while picking up a few groceries this morning – I started going downhill in the feeling well stakes but it was totally worth it to score these lovely doilies, a piece of Johnson crockery & a nice little doll quilt.
The pile of goodies below cost a grand total of $5 all up….
This gorgeous lamp works & has a lightbulb in it that was made in Holland… it’s amazing! (Don’t worry, it’s not plugged in anywhere at the moment, waiting to start a fire, but one day I’ll get it checked & find the perfect place for it in my huge dream house….)
I wouldn’t have found this gorgeous big eyed doll if I hadn’t taken Punk shopping with me – she found the body first which I barely glanced at, thinking it was some weird scarecrow ornament, & then she found the head in a box & I just about died of awesome. Born to be a thrifting queen, that one.
The sausage below wasn’t my find, but a sweet pressie from someone who knows I’m partial to all things dachshund, I love it!
More finds with Sophie!
Looks like you had a lot of fun - sadly the flea markets here are become more expensive and lower in quality. I almost stopped going to any.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pile of truly awesome stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love the lamp, the doll (well done Punk) and every other thing you found. I always grab adonised cups when I see them, they remind me of my Nan and Pop who always kept them in their fridge.
I hope you're feeling better Vic.
I love that your girl already had an eye for treasures!
ReplyDeleteNice finds Vic :)
What a fantastic loot. Love the doilies and that tray the best. Cx
ReplyDeleteA very good haul, well done. The doll is absolutely gorgeous and the lamp and anodised cup sadly bring back childhood for me. I have Mum's set of anodised cups in their leather pouch somewhere in the cupboard. They were our picnic cups.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's the mother load! We have that little record player and a few records too, I love it. So many ace things! Those cups remind me of going to my best friends house and drinking soft drink after school in the cool of her kitchen on a hot day. Love the sausage doggie..and the doilies are fab. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteLove the little rose embroidery and the red lamp in divine. Well worth the trip.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the doilies! What beautiful finds. Of course I adore the sausage dog too :).
ReplyDeleteMy great aunt brought me a doll very similar to your tall girl - from Japan, I believe, probably in the mid 60's. I've never seen another like it, so I was thrilled with your pictures! Mine has a pale green short coat, and came with earrings, just a dangley bead on a pin. My girl has red hair in an elegant french twist. (My mom had red hair.)Thanks for sharing, Barb (Canada)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on such wonderful finds :) Happy crafting, Jenny
ReplyDeleteThat fisher price record player was my all time favourite toy as a child. Such a pity they don't still make them.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a bounty. You are the Op shopping Queen. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI've got the sausage dog - if your interested it's meant to have a large metal spring in the middle and is a letter holder. I keep my postcards in mine for postcrossing!!
