Thankies….!

Look what arrived for me yesterday….

frugavore

A fabulous more-than-just-a-cookbook from Amy…

…wrapped in…

ROBOT PAPER!

As if I weren’t already stoked enough to have won a copy – it’s little touches like that that melt my cold stone heart & make me adore blogland & it’s lovely bloggers anew.

mousse

AND there was even a personal recipe recommendation; chocolate mousse… mmmmmm….. chocolate….. Huh? Oh. Yes. Sorry.

Read all about this beautiful book over here – there is SO much packed into this sturdy little book that I think I’m going to need some time to get through it all, but get through it I will for it’s right up my alley. Thankies Amy – I LOVE IT!!

What sort of thing has been gracing your snail-mail-box lately? Prizes? Presents? Hideous little letters with nasty plastic windows…??

Blogtoberfest Day 13: The Self Portrait.

Ah, a challenge for Blogtoberfest couldn’t have come at a better time – I had absolutely nothing to post today – zip, zilch, nada!

selfportrait

I am cheating a wee bit – this pic is from a couple of weeks ago, but it’s the last photo of me I actually can stand looking at, so it was this, or nothing! Pop over here to join in – look forward to “seeing” you too!

Quick Stop.

I hadn’t been opping all week, so yesterday after a failed attempt at the day-care drop off (I wanted her to stay home, she wanted to go, until we got there….) I asked Punk if she wanted to do a quick circuit of the oppies. This was met with enthusiasm…. until, again, we got there…

owly

Still, in the four & a half minutes I was allowed to peruse, I picked up a cute (little bit broken but no matter) owl mirror & what seems like a magician’s sewing box.

Imagine if I’d had longer…?!

Beautiful Day.

That’s what we had yesterday, Le Punk & I, a beautiful, fun, happy day. I loved every moment of it, & being out in the sunshine, doing something, made me feel 100 times better than I have been, & even though we both seem to have woken up pretty worse for wear today, it was so worth it.

International Talk Like A Robot Day.

(I dare you not to laugh at this song… I dare you. Especially the binary solo…)

I read somewhere that today (a very computer-y ‘101010’) is International Talk Like a Robot Day, & I have to say, I don’t need to know it’s true to be excited. Or should I say;

roborack

Hello. I am robot. *whir* Today. You can. Talk. *beep* Like. A. Robot. Too.

roborack1

Or, if that is just too much effort, why don’t you make your computer talk like a robot instead…?!

roborack2

Still feeling rubbish, but whatever, we’re off out & about today if it kills me. Punk seems to be full of energy this morning though (due to her absurdly healthy fruit-fuelled wee body I imagine, not the slow-chocolate-burning beast I have…), so at least she won’t be whinging about being dragged around.

roborack3

Back on the robot-theme (…& when aren’t we, lately?), I painted that coat rack thingy I got at Le Oppy a few weeks ago – it’s stoopid hard to photograph due to the early hour & it’s long shape, but I’m living on the edge here. I’m wild & crazy & I do what I want. Word. *beep*

Excuses, excuses…

Things seem to have gone even further down the illness hill over here, so much so that I can’t even manage my own sick-note for Blogtoberfest & am stealing someone else's.

1ROII

Going to spend today doing as little as possible & hoping Punk & I feel at least moderately better tomorrow for local festival & market fun…. (I have only been looking forward to it ALL YEAR, so we better bloody be able to go…!!!)

Do You Feel Lucky, Punk?

…if she doesn’t, she certainly should, look what arrived for her yesterday from Little Thing, via a competition on the awesome Kid Independent site.

gorgeousgirl1

Two beautiful tunic dresses handmade in Mexico from their Mamacita collection – the obvious favourite is hot pink – it needed to be worn immediately, but the natural one has also been fondled & cooed over in true fashionista style.

As if that weren’t enough luck for a wee little Punk, I found out yesterday afternoon that we had also won an adorable handmade doll from Little People Clothing, again through Kid Independent & The Project Underpants drive – wow!

undies-1

I have asked for the doll to be sent straight to Mikes for Softies for Mirabel (Don’t tell The Punk!)– As much as I hope to make a softie myself again this year, I have to be realistic & admit that I just might not, so knowing that we kinda sorta contributed some handmade softie love already will make me feel better.

*Note for anybody interested, I didn’t get around to much yesterday except painting (badly) a bookshelf. It is blue instead of white & has bugs stuck to it. It almost caused a major-mama tanty & really should have been left for another day. That’s all I’m saying.
